Privacy Policy
Introduction
Safahat Store is committed to protecting your personal data in line with Oman's Personal Data Protection Law (Royal Decree 6/2022). This policy explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights. Last updated: October 2026.
Data We Collect
When you order: your name, phone number, email (optional), governorate, wilayat and delivery address or pickup office, and the books you order. When you create an account: your phone number and/or email, your password (stored only as a secure hash) and temporary verification codes. When you choose to: reviews you write, "notify me" requests, newsletter sign-ups and contact-form messages. We also log in-store search terms, without linking them to you, to improve which books we stock.
How We Use Your Data
To process, deliver and communicate about your orders, sign you in to your account, send the back-in-stock alerts you asked for, answer your enquiries and improve the store. We only use your data for marketing if you subscribe to the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Who We Share It With
We never sell your data. We only share what is needed with: delivery companies and couriers (name, phone and address, to deliver your order); our WhatsApp messaging provider (UltraMsg), to send verification codes, order confirmations and alerts to your number; and our website hosting provider, where the data is stored. We may also disclose data when required by a competent authority under the law.
Cookies & Local Storage
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Your cart, wishlist and language preference are stored only on your device. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers or analytics.
How Long We Keep Data
We keep order records for as long as accounting and legal obligations require, and account data for as long as your account exists. Verification codes expire within minutes, and "notify me" requests are removed once the alert is sent or when you ask.
Your Rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete your account and data (unless the law requires us to keep it), or withdraw consent to marketing messages. You may also complain to the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, the authority responsible for personal data protection in Oman.
Data Security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS), store passwords only as secure hashes, and limit access to order data to the store team.
Contact Us
For any question or request about your data, email admin@safa7at.net or WhatsApp +968 9598 0823. We will respond within 30 days at most.
